Deals of the Week for January 23, 2012

Hello, Super-Couponers! I have to admit, it's been a bit of a crazy week over here. In two days, this lovely little girl in the photo with me is turning sixteen years old. It was already surreal when she became a teenager three years ago, but now to have one that's passed Driver's Ed and has her eyes on our vehicles? The last few days have been filled with sweet sixteen party plans and moments of me reflecting on how quickly the years have gone by. It may sound cliche, but the words everyone says about children ("they grow up so fast") couldn't be more true. Much love to the Coupon Princess on her big day this Wednesday.

This week's blog giveaway will be a hit with the younger crowd... the really-much-younger crowd! Enter to win a gift pack of organic baby food from Ella's Kitchen, a well-known brand of baby food in the United Kingdom which has recently "crossed the pond" to gain popularity in the United States too.

Deals of the Week for January 2, 2012

Happy New Year, Super-Couponers! It's my birthday today, and it's always a welcome birthday present to get Sunday papers with LOTS of coupons inside each New Year's weekend! That's one of the best gifts a couponer can get! Hope you picked up a few extra copies yesterday to prepare for great matchups of freebies and cheapies for weeks to come.

Unfortunately I've been nursing a bad cold for the past few days... but I have to tell you, I'm singing the praises of those Kleenex Cool Touch tissues that were cheap with coupons last month. They are beyond fantastic on a sore nose... and even my little guys have been asking for the "cold, soft Kleenexes!" I was happy to get more coupons for them in yesterday's inserts. (And if you haven't tried them, Kleenex has a promo on their site right now that will send you a free Kleenex Cool Touch sample, PLUS a free box of Kleenex to a friend!)

Now that a new year's here, it's a great time to clear out your insert file too of any expired coupons. This "Current Inserts" link will help you weed out any of your 2011 inserts that have expired coupons in them. If a insert's date and name isn't on the list, everything inside it is expired, and you can safely remove it from your file.

This week's blog giveaway will be a hit with anyone who's a fan of Sam's Club and Box Tops for Education! Enter to win a $25 Sam's Club gift card from Sam's and General Mills!

Deals of the Week for December 26, 2011

Hello, Super-Couponers! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas holiday, and I can't believe this will be the last Deals of the Week writeup for 2011..! I'm excited that another new year is just days away.

Before we even jump into Deals, I'll warn you that the sales are VERY light this week, and note that the deals posted begin 12/26 as most stores are closed Christmas Day. Grocery stores tend not to have as many sales the week after Christmas, as these are lower-trafficked days for the stores. (People are home and busy eating leftovers -- seriously!) So, I've got THREE different blog giveaways running this week to give you a chance to win a little something extra before this year's through! Enter to win a Dryel 30-Minute In-Dryer Home Dry Cleaning Kit, a gift pack of two cans of Pringles (and a "Kringles" cookie recipe), and an Arm & Hammer SpinBrush My Way kids' toothbrush!

It IS, however, a great week to do post-Christmas-clearance shopping. I'll pick up all my Christmas 2012 gift wrap over the next day or so when it's 50-75% off. Keep that in mind if you're out at the stores!

This week's newspaper contained NO coupon inserts. (Why? Weeks on and around holidays typically have little to no coupon inserts, so this is normal.) But today's 12/25 Parade has some good manufacturer coupons you may wish to save - a $1-off-2 Arm & Hammer laundry detergent (exp/ 3/1/12) and some Olay coupons on the back page: $10 off Olay Pro X moisturizer, $5 off Regenerist moisturizer, and $3 off 2 daily facials or cleansers. All expire 1/31/12.

Deals of the Week for December 18, 2011

Hello, Super-Couponers! Christmas is ONE WEEK away. To help you get everything done, I worked on getting Deals up as quickly as possible today! And, December 18th is also a special day around here as it's my oldest son's birthday. Rather than write deals all day, I crammed overnight, enjoyed a nice day with the family, then finished up after lunch! I can't wait to spend the rest of his "big 7" day with him, so happy shopping to you all, and happy birthday to Ben (who actually does read Mom's blog at times.)

Once again, I have so many things to give away before the end of the year that I am running two giveaways this week. First, enter to win an opportunity to shop, snack, and save with a fantastic spoil-yourself-and-relax gift pack in SavingStar's "Holiday Snacks, Soups, Skincare and Savings" Giveaway! And, two readers will each win a free bottle of Country Bob's All-Purpose Sauce, great for burgers, poultry, seafood and more!

Want to learn to save with coupons? Attend a Super-Couponing workshop, or order your copy on DVD and learn in the comfort of your own home... at your own pace! Don't forget that Super-Couponing DVDs make a GREAT gift this holiday season too! New this season: $5.95 flat shipping, no matter how many items you order! (This is your chance to give the gift of savings to friends and family... and to answer their endless questions of "how did you learn to save so much money with coupons?!" :) THE LAST DAY TO ORDER SUPER-COUPONING DVDs and GUARANTEE DELIVERY BEFORE CHRISTMAS IS DECEMBER 20th! The USPS has posted that Priority Mail shipments sent after December 21st are not guaranteed to arrive before the holidays... so order soon!

This week's newspaper contained NO coupon inserts. (Why? Weeks on and around holidays typically have little to no coupon inserts, so this is normal.) But today's Chicago Tribune does contain a nice bonus - another $10 off $10 coupon for Fannie May stores! Find it on page 38 of the "Nation and World" section (the actual newspaper part.) It's good through 12/24, so hop to it.

(Fun and easy math lesson for your kids? Give them a paper bag, a $10 Fannie May coupon, and turn them loose on the bulk candy wall of your Fannie May if your store has one. Bulk chocolates, caramels, and other Fannie May treats are $14.99/lb. when purchased by the bag. There's a scale near the display to weigh your bag on. 11 ounces of candy puts you right around $10.30, and your child can pay with change. My kids loved picking out whatever they wanted from the candy store and weighing their bag to see how much more they could add! Fun treat for the birthday boy too :)

Deals of the Week for November 28, 2011

Hello Super-Couponers! Hope everyone has recovered from Thanksgiving and Black Friday shopping madness..! It's a lighter week of deals at the supermarkets this week, which is usually the case after a holiday. It's also the reason we get little to no coupons in the paper after a holiday too -- people typically don't shop much because they're home eating leftovers from last week's big feast! So, enjoy this smaller (but still good) week of deals.

This week's blog giveaway is a fun twist on the usual holiday cookie exchange with friends and family. Enter to win a Chex Party Mix-Change, with everything you need to whip up a batch of your favorite Chex Mix!
