ConAgra pricing at Jewel

I just got back from the Rolling Meadows store. I did not get my ConAgra catalina. When I questioned it I was informed that it is now based on the preffered price.
Customer Service was very nice about getting the answer. They called catalina and vefifed it. Not sure if it will effect other offers. Right now I'm licking my wounds and am afraid to try another deal.

Don't be afraid...

Double checks UPCs with those on the spreadsheets, verify the prices at the scanner, and break out the calculator. I had a transaction fall through today and once I looked over the receipt, I saw why. One of the Hunt's pudding did not get scanned, therefore my total came up short. I was distracted at the check out lane and I figure it's a lesson learned - I'll be more attentive next time. Keep following Jill's instructions and you'll become more confident.

missing one item

I would go back tomorrow and explain what happened and if they are nice they will rering your order so you could get the cat. BE NICE!! They do have a sheet that if you are a regular customer they should be able to do that. My jewel did miss ringing an item. They looked at my receipt and told me that I was short this and when I looked at it the one item never got scanned. They rang up the item and then producted a cat for me. Way to GO JEWEL. I never even made it to Dominicks this week, oh well, Dominicks never tryed me good to beginn with. Way too many problems with coupons. Best of luck

It was an honest mistake and one less Cat is not going to make or break me.

Not True!

I just came back from the Rolling Meadows store, and did 2 Kraft/P&G, and 1 ConAgra deal, all based on the Non-preferred prices. No problems received 2 $5, and 2 $10 cats.
I finally found the 4pk DanActive but the non-preferred price was $2.95, not $3.25 as listed in the add. You Need to Scan, Scan, Scan! I was at another Jewel this afternoon, and the Chef Boyardee had only 1 price, when I scanned it was $1.00.

Double check

your UPCs against the list, check the prices on your receipt, check if any coupons were entered as Grocery, check card number on receipt matches your card. Did other Cats print out of the machine?

Some items just aren't working

What were you trying to buy? (The Poppycock wasn't working.) You can't always go by the upc list, either. I try to go by what has worked for others on this blog. That's why I like Jill's blog, she tries out the deals before posting them Monday mornings, so you can pretty much guarantee her deals will work.

Jewel employees keep

Jewel employees keep insisting on that (in fact I had one get almost irate with me today) but it doesn't hold true. I did 4 transactions today, none were preferred pricing and 3 of them printed. I'm still trying to figure out why that one didn't print, but I'm guessing it was a glitch since one printed right afterwards.

Please understand that's all they CAN say.

They MUST legally go by what's printed in the ad. If we CHOOSE to work it differently, it's 100% on us if it doesn't fly. Again, they cannot say anything other than what they DO say - that it must work the way the ad specifies.

Oh, I understand. I didn't argue with her at all or raise my voice, all I said was that I was surprised it didn't print! I'm wondering if someone else must have given her a hard time.

They've been saying that for the past 5 years. It hasn't changed - either Cat was down or the order could have been pennies off. These deals are VERY tricky and require a lot of work prior to getting to the register.

ConAgra Pricing at Jewel

I came across the same issue yesterday at the Melrose Park Jewel. I'm certain that I was over the $25 using the regular or sale price where applicable. I verified all prices on the self scanner prior to checking out, yet the cat didn't print. Customer service looked this up in their policy manual and there was some verbiage indicating that some stores were ringing up at the Preferred Price due to a system glitch. She then was able to get my CAT for me by re-scanning items.
