Yet ANOTHER no-go!!!
Tried to use the Johnson's coupons today on the Buddies and was told I couldn't do it. When they scan the item and then scan the coupon a message pops up on the screen saying "item not found". They told me it's because the Johnson's Buddies are considered a "toddler" product NOT a "baby" product. They stood firm on it...so I called the 800 number and when I told them what was going on they agreed that if it was saying "item not found" then I would have to use this coupon on a different Johnson item.
I also had some man. coupons that printed at Jewel for Johnson's products...it was save $2.50 on any 3 Johnson baby products. I was told I couldn't use those because it says "Jewel" on them. So I also addressed this with corporate and was told that they don't accept them because this could have been a deal between the man. and Jewel.
At first I talked to just a CS rep but was transferred to someone else higher up...not sure exactly who though...but she is sending me a $5 giftcard for all my trouble...and she said that if there is a problem with it at one Target there should be problems at every Target because they are all on the same computer system.
So I am not sure where to go from here in regards to using these coupons...guess I just won't be able to get the free buddies. It has been VERY frustrating for me trying to use these coupons!!! Any advice?
I buy these at Wal-mart. I go to Wal-mart for nothing except the Huggies butt wipes for toddlers (cheapest) and Buddies Soaps which are .97 also. They work there with no problems...Target is a pain in the rear with these. I gave up.
I used them there with no problems.
Some Johnson&Johnson coupons say "BABY" product some say "ANY" product. You can not use the baby ones for buddys just the ones that say any. HTH :)
Every coupon I have printed from the links Jill provided and even the ones from the paper say "$1.00 OFF ANY JOHNSON'S BABY PRODUCT (excluding trial sizes)". I don't understand why they are going through at some stores for some people but I have problems using mine.
A message literally popped up right on the screen at the store saying "item not found". Is the message "item not found" popping up because the cost of the product is less that the coupon?
Yes - the register can't find a "$1 or more" item for it to attach to. They need to K1 it or adjust it down.
If they are disputing that the Buddies soap is a BABY product, look at your Target receipt. Their receipts break products down by category, and it appears under "BABY." It's also in the baby aisle - simple as that! :)
I am SOOO frustrated! I just called Targets 800 number again and was told that when they scan my coupon and it comes up "item not found" it IS because that coupon CANNOT be used on that item.
So they transferred me to Johnson & Johnson to ask if this coupon that says "baby" on it can be used on the Buddies. Johnson & Johnson told me that they don't know about any of these coupons that come from websites or newspapers because they don't come directly from them and it is up to the store if they want to take the coupons or not. They also told me that the buddies are NOT considered a baby product...but guess what? When you go to www.johnsonsbaby.com and go under "our baby products" guess what is listed at the top of the page? JOHNSON'S BUDDIES!!!!!
They then said they would send me some of THEIR direct man. coupons that he KNOWS can be used ON ANY JOHNSON PRODUCT INCLUDING THE BUDDIES SOAP...this coupon states to be used on any Johnson's "baby" product. Well I can guarantee when I get these coupons and go back to that Target store they will not take them if it says "baby" on it. He said they should take it because it is directly from them and he knows it can be used on the kid/toddler products as well...(well how does Target know that when they are both going to say Manufacturer Coupon on the top and have the same "baby" wording). He said if they don't take the coupons that he sends me, to call back and they will investigate why they don't take them.
I know I'm putting a lot of time and energy into this...but I can't stand when someone tells me I can't do something that I can do! So I just called Target back AGAIN to expain what Johnson's told me and was immediately transferred to a supervisor! She told me that any time a product is ringing up LESS than the coupon value...it will always say "item not found" and they SHOULD be taking my coupons! So if it happens again she said to go to CS and pick up the red phone and they would explain to the store manager that they should be taking these coupons. Lets see if that happens!
She told me that any time a product is ringing up LESS than the coupon value...it will always say "item not found" and they SHOULD be taking my coupons!
And who told you that first? ;)
I guess the reason I couldn't let it go is because I want them to know they should be taking these coupons and I am doing nothing wrong. It's not so much of an "I told you so" but more so the fact that they shouldn't keep doing this to people. Hopefully once they know they are wrong they won't give anyone problems at this store!
hi i used mine in jewel with my your bucks, i bought 2 baby johnson 2 in 1 shampoo, i can't remember they were very little bottles all the way on the top shelf they were 3.99 you had to buy 2 of them .,got 2 dollars from your bucks and used the 2 coupons for 1.00 off on each. and the cashier didn't say anything.
I was able to get 5 of the buddies soaps at Target today with the coupons, the cashier let the first 2 coupons go through, then adjusted the other 3 down when she realized why they weren't going through. So I still came out ahead by $0.09. Sorry they gave you such a hard time!

Cashier pulled a Walmart and literally read each one. A CS rep came to the register because she couldn't ring them up. On one of them (I got the deodorant, Tide, shave cream and something else I can't remember), she told me what I was getting wasn't this size. I said the coupon says 'any size' and doesn't limit. The male CS rep showed her how to price them down because she said we can't give them free. I stated that's fine and is good for the store because they get the $.08 and extra pennies for doing this and it's what their policy states.
She took forever reading each of them even though the coupons were all the same as the others in the group (4 inserts worth).
She even started taking out the items in my bag even after she checked what SHE had rung up on the receipt (looked there 1st) to further confirm my purchases.
I (with a smile) stated you're making me feel like a criminal. I watch very carefully not to misrepresent # of coupons to # of items purchased, but of course, I'm not perfect. She said 'oh we're just making sure you get what you need". ?????? Huh. Honey, (to myself), I bought what I need and it's in the bag and on your ring up.
She finished, I took the bag and with a smile and perfectly pleasant tone of voice, I said a thank you. However, the CS rep, stayed behind with her. I can imagine what they said to each other. I'm probably not a 'guest' but a 'one of them'!!!!!
I might be on the same "do not invite" list as you! I had no problems using the J&J Coupons for my buddies this week at my Target, and I had several other items some with Qs some without. However, the look of the cashier when she did entered the coupons you'd think I was taking money from her pocket!
Hello cashiers: the manufacturer pays for the coupons plus they pay $0.08 handling per coupon. So nothing is impacting your bottom line but increased sales! The manufacturer has put out these coupons to entice consumers to buy their product over one of their competitors.
That is the way of Consumer Packaged Good Sales Companies! (I know I worked for one for 14 years!).
