tombstone

I know someone commented earlier that Tombstone wasn't working, didn't have a CHILL tag...
but my Jewel insert from today DOES have Tombstone listed, for $2.99.
Anyone else tried to include tombstone with success? It's my DHs fave

Tombstone worked today

I bought six Tombstone pizzas and four Lean Pockets today at the Woodstock Jewel and I received the $10 Chill catalina. The Tombstone did not have the Chill tag on the shelf but I tried it anyways because we go through a lot of frozen pizza with three boys.

thank you!!

I was probably going to do it anyway, since Tombstone is our favorite and $2.99 is about as cheap as I've seen it.
Thanks for posting :)

i am new to this...must you purchase all 10 items in 1 transaction, or can you buy them and let them add up over time to get the 10$ cat?

No Tombstone

Just went to do the Chill deal. Did not get my cat because Tombstone is NOT included in the deal as listed above. Did not get my Trib today so didn't have the insert before I got to the store so was trying to read it while shopping and did not look closely enough. Still really new to this and have felt like I was doing great until tonight. Did get the $7 for buying $20 of GM and lots of YB's, but still frustrated with myself.

Did you look for CHILL shelf tags and the UPC list? Often what shows up on the alert doesn't make it into the end deal too. I will always double-check UPCs just to be sure. If Tombstone is definitely not in, I'll pull it from the original poster's alert.

still be careful with the shelf tags

I went off the shelf tags at my Jewel today when I was getting Hot Pockets. Unfortunately one of the varieties wasn't on the list and my $10 cat didn't print out. I actually went and asked at customer service because I made sure I picked ones that had the Big Chill shelf tag attached to them. She was extremely helpful and fixed it for me. Now I can't remember which one didn't work...sorry - I'm 29 weeks pregnant and I've been getting a little forgetful! :)

There was not

a Chill tag by the Tombstones-was just going off the list here. Tombstone also was not listed in the Sun-Wed ad I picked up in the store.

Regretting My Just C.H.I.L.L. Deal!?

I went today for the just chill deal at Jewel. Bought the following:

1 bag of tater tots
2 boxes of boca burgers
3 containers of breyers ice cream
9 boxes of lean pockets
2 boxes of bagel bites
12 smart ones
1 bag of ravioli
6 lean cuisines

I did 3 separate transactions to take advantae of double dips on the Your Bucks for the lean cuisines, lean pockets and breyers. Though I did purchase more than 2 lean cuisines and lean pockets in a transaction, I was going for the lower priced items. Not many coupons available that I could find except for the smart ones and the boca burgers were a last minute choice so I missed out there....not to mention 2 of the smart ones were in the wrong spot and I paid full price:(.

So my total was $87, I had $24 in Your Bucks and the buy $20 get $7 from my trip last week bringing my total to $63 and I in turn received back $49 in Your Bucks and for the just chill deal. Just feel like I could have done better. I did stock the upper freezer of a fridge in the garage of items we do eat regularly, but I have been supercouponing for over a month now and not to use to dishing out this kind of cash lately, thanks to Jill!!!!

I welcome suggestions or maybe I did okay????

awesome!

I'm still pretty new to the game, but it looks to me like if you subtract your $49 YB earned, you only paid $12 for ALL that...
Considering the 3 breyer's alone would normally be $12, I think that's amazing!!

Also as a newbie one of my struggles right now is, I don't like subtracting YB earned from total paid for transaction... since I won't use those YB till next time. But still, you've got $50 toward your next shopping trip. Pretty impressive!!!!

Sometimes I have to take a step back

When I find myself where you are, I step back and ask myself these questions

1. Did I buy things we eat, and would have bought anyway if I had never heard of Jill?

2. Did I pay less for those items than I would have if I had never heard of Jill?

If the answer to those two questions are yes, then you did great. We all second guess ourselves, and beat ourselves up if we missed a deal, or didn't get it quite right. But at the end of the day if you saved ANYTHING over the way you used to shop...you are ahead of the game. Could you have done better? Maybe. Could you have done worse? ABSOLUTELY. You could have paid full price for all of it, out of pocket! The freezer is stocked and you still have $49 in catalinas to try again. And THAT is SUPER. :)

I agree but...

I agree that the only way you could have done worse would have been to pay full price! Sometimes I feel like people get so caught up in trying to pay nothing (or almost nothing) that they don't appreciate it if they have to lay out some cash. You saved a BUNDLE!

The only thing I'm not sure I agree with is the "Would I have bought it anyway if I had never heard of Jill" part of Q1. What I am realizing is that it's not a bad thing to see what's available on a deal and then ask myself if my family would eat and enjoy it even if it's not something I would normally buy. We have found a number of things recently that we like that I would NEVER have thought to buy without Jill.

Thanks to all of you for making this a wonderful and supportive community!

Edy's ?

My freezer Q states any snack cup edy's product.. other than the dibs, I couldn't find any! They had tons of haagen dazs and ben and jerry's snack cup size.. but no edy's.

I figured I would wait on these two items and messed up my 10/$10 by getting two of the hot packets that were on the ten for ten dollars special.. so I guess that is FYI to everyone else not to include those hot pocket single type items (DUH :oP)

Does the free one in the buy one get one free count towards the 10 items? So I would only have to pay for 5 ice creams, but I would get 10 and my $10 catalina. Let me know...Thank you.

I THINK $2.99

I'm almost positive they're $2.99 each. With ten $1 coupons (1/3 SS - and they DO expire tomorrow!) pay $19.90 and get $10 back - ten for $9.90 is .99 each :)

coupons for $1 off at my jewel in the blinkies

There were coupons for $1 off one of these at my jewel in the blinkies - I cannot remember where though, I did about 10 trips today and it is all blending together.

Thank you Jill, it was a great day, even though in one trip I forgot to scan my coupons!

Yes

It stacks three high - you can buy 30 and get $30 back. This is NOT in the ad though. And watch your cashier carefully to make sure ALL 30 get scanned. If they accidentally scan 29 instead... you just lost $10.

5 Jewel Deals

Jill, are these running at Dominick's also since they are General Mills, Kraft, etc.?

No

No - these 5 are specific to Jewel.

Product-specific Catalinas (on ONE product) will run in more than one place -- like the "Buy 5 Fruit Snacks, get $3.50 back" - that's running at Jewel, Doms, Meijer.

Multiple-item manufacturer/group/theme Catalina deals (Buy 10, save $10, Buy $25, save $10) are unique to STORE. The Jewel multiple-item deals only work at Jewel. Same with the current $25/$10 P&G running at Dominick's, or the $25/$10 Frozen Food that's due to start at Doms -- those will ONLY be at Doms.

Technically,

wouldn't you be able to use all of the "free item" coupons additionally? If you bought 10, the MFQ is letting you take $3 or $4 off those 10 items, depending on which coupon you have. The "free item" coupons cover the cost of the "free items" obviously when you buy 3 (Flatbread Q, 01-10 S) and when you buy 5 (Breakfast item, 01-10 S). Three and five makes eight, and you're buying 10. I don't see a problem there. The coupons are covering different items. :-)

but...

in order to use the $3 off or $4 off peelie you have to buy 10! so this brings it down to 60 or 70 cents a piece with just those! Then you can do the deal again with the free coupons and get it for the same price... unless you have so many coupons you dont know what to do with... lol i dont so i am running this deal twice this way. if you use the frees also, you get 12 for 50 or 58 cents but then thats all you get! (unless you have more coupons... i only found one peelie and cant find the $3 off 10 one)

IF you don't want to wait for them to go B1G1F, you could -- but me personally, I'd wait for the B1G1F vs. using them to pad a Cat deal.

Smart Ones Deal

Someone posted that they bought 10 Smart Ones Frozen Products and used the $3.00 coupon from the 1/10S to buy 10. This brought it down to $17.00. This yields a $10 cat. However right next to that coupon is buy 5 get one breakfast free and buy three get a free Flatbread. If they're all $2 wouldn't the better way to go be by using the freebie coupons, especially if you have multiples of this coupon. For example buy 5 at $2.00 = $10.00
1 free 0.00
buy 3 = $ 6.00
1 free = 0.00
Total $16.00
Just a thought! Then it only comes to .60 each

so to summarize...

the two options would be:

1. Buy 10 @ $2 each = $20
+ 1 Free Breakfast wyb 5
+ 1 Free Flatbread wyb 3

This would come out to $7/12 items ($20-3-free-free-$10 cat), or around $0.58 each

2. Buy 8 @ $2 each = $16
+ 1 Free Breakfast wyb 5
+ 1 Free Flatbread wyb 3

This would come out to $6/10 items ($20-free-free-10 cat), or around $0.60 each

Both are good deals...almost the same. This only think you have to remember is to pick out the free items accordingly (something that's included in the deal as the free items) in scenario #2, but you don't really have to worry about that in deal #1.
