I went to Dominicks today and for the first time in Gurnee they questioned my Q's. Johnsonville breakfast sausage is BOGO and I had $1 off 2 Q. I also had $1 off eggs when you buy 2 Johnsonville breakfast sausage. I thought I should be able to use both Q's as one was for the sausage and one was for the eggs. The cashier said that to use both Q's I would need to buy 4 packages of sausage but she would put it through this time. I just nodded my head tried to explain to her what my thoughts were but she stuck to her reasoning but put it through. This was my regular cashier that is awesome so I wanted to make sure that I truely was correct.

policy

For the BOGO sausage you could use a cents off 1 coupon but the cents off 2 gave money off a free item which isn't allowed at Dom's. Same thing with eggs, to Dom's you didn't buy two sausages, only one. If you brought 4 to the counter that would be fine since to Dom's you paid for 2 out of the 4 and they gave you 2 free.

The policy for BOGO is in the weekly ad in the fine print at the bottom. They should really just point customers to that since it sounds like a made up policy due to almost all other stores not holding a store BOGO against you.

Just another problem w/ Dom's

Your coupon use sounds fine to me, but remember that anything goes at Dominick's. They sometimes (usually? never?) accept a coupon on a free item when there is a BOGO sale, so maybe she was balking at using the $1/2 coupon when you weren't paying for one of the packages of sausages.

It would have flown at Jewel.

I did just that at jewel..

a few days ago, when the JV breakfasts meats were 4/$10... I used 4 x $1/1 Qs and 2 x $1/dzn eggs Qs. Worked like a charm... and it would have worked just as well if the breakfast meats had been BOGO.
