A big thanks to our Forum member Brcm1220 for typing up the list! Other sites and blogs may freely post this list if credit to www.jillcataldo.com is given. Thank you!
Note: A BIG difference this year from previous years' deals is the shorter expiration date. ALL of these expire at the end of May, instead of December in previous years. That's a shorter window of time than we've seen, but still, watch for B1G1F sales on these products, then take home TWO free whenever you can.
This is also the first time we've seen non-food items included in the deal!
The Gurnee location does not carry Home Run Inn Pasta. And I was told that I could NOT substitute anything else for it.
Does anyone know of a location near Gurnee that carries it?
I found the answer to my own question. Now I have used my final coupon!
Should we stock up during this week or hope they go on sale for a Memorial Day Sale? Do you anticipate a freezer sale? What would you do Jill?
Thank you for the seminars and your website and of course your time for helping me as we as all of the members save money. Have a great day!
Many people have written to say the "freezer stuff" is already sold out of their stores from people using up coupons - I'd get them used up sooner than later.
The Spring Grove Jewel had the Culinary Circle Lasagna on sale for Buy one, get one free. With the freezer coupon I got two free. The sale goes until June 6th, but the freezer coupon expires May 31st.
Very nice find! I saw these at my store today to and added these to the list. Thanks!
Be sure to get the 40 OUNCE lasagna, not the 16 ounce lasagna! The 40 oz is shown on the coupon and even with the B1G1 it would be better if both were 40 ounces :o)
I went tonight (Algonquin) and had the MOST amazing experience. Not only did they let me substitute the items they didn't carry any longer, but my cashier actually sent my bagger out to the lot when a catalina printed (LOVE it!) from purchasing the Fridays Skillet meal. I'd get on it though, as a lot of stuff was obviously short on supply as this winds down.
Did you get the catalina for just purchasing 1 TGIF meal???
Thanks for all the information!
This is good info, because I have found that the Jewel Nut Cones and the Reames noodle products were no longer carried at my Jewel (on Dundee and Hicks in Palatine). The MGR said it was okay to substitute a different 8 count box of ice cream cones (like the nestle drums for instance) AND he said I could pick out any frozen item up to the value of the Reames coupon ($3.00) or they would take $3 off another item. VERY accommodating, but I wouldn't feel right about doing without asking first.
If any other item is not carried at YOUR local Jewel, I would suggest asking for help finding it and THEN asking if you can substitute another item. That way, the effort has been made to use the coupon correctly... Just my opinion.
The Jewel brand ice cream products are no longer being made. I asked about them at my Jewel the other day because I have not been able to find them. I was told the same thing, that I could substitute any similar item.
A lot of the Jewel products are now under the "Stone Ridge Creamery" name (their house brand) - another reader wrote to say her store substituted the Stone Ridge "Drumsticks" for the Jewel brand -- which technically, they still are a Jewel brand.
that I could substitute "Stone Ridge" for the Jewel brand ice cream things. But as for the Blue Bunny,, the lady at customer service said I was just 'outta luck' because they don't carry them. :( So sad. Has anyone had luck finding that one at your Jewel?
My Jewel had the yogurt cones last night. I tried one and didn't like it very much.
At my Jewel in Palatine, the Manager I spoke to (Shane or Shawn... hmm I'm so BAD with names!) Allowed to me substitute ANY similar item (as in not just the stone ridge brand). Same thing with the Reames coupon - he allowed me to get a similarly priced frozen item instead. I'm not sure about the Blue bunny brand ice cream, but I am pretty sure they would let me use it on a similarly sized ice cream product if I asked.
If you didn't speak with a manager, I would try it next time. I would start the conversation as I did - asking if they can help you find this item, so you both try to find it and then they will probably give you the okay to substitute. I've always been pretty straight with them and trying to get as close as possible to the actual item and this manager kind of knows me at least by sight now, so he is always very friendly when I am trying to black belt it (he even suggested that I split some deals up into separate transactions to get more cats back! so he's very friendly to the couponers!)
The Floresta Pasta goes Buy 1 Get 1 Free at Jewel starting Thursday 4/29.
Just got back from the Grayslake Jewel and found these. They were very hard to find as there were only 4 bags left, freezer section. They ring up at 2.99, so got both free. 2 left but they look frozen together.
Nice catch! I don't have my ad yet.
(Patience is a virtue! Even with the shorter expiration dates, we'll double-up on many of these yet! :)
The Jewel in Romeoville and the Jewel in Plainfield no longer carry the Jewel Sundae Nut Cones or the Jewel ice-cream cups. I still have my freezer coupons for them and I was wondering if any other Jewel's were still selling these products.
•Jewel Sundae Nut Cones -(no value listed)- exp. 5/31/10
•Jewel vanilla, chocolate or strawberry cup -(no value listed)- exp. 5/31/10
If they really do not carry the product at your Jewel location, the CS folks should know AND they should let you substitute a similar item (like maybe nestle's drumstick's fro the cones.. you get the idea). My Jewel in Palatine on Dundee and Hicks still has the cups and (I think) The cones. but they are very low on stock, so they might be phasing them out as well. My Jewel is pretty good about giving rainchecks or substitutions when the sale or original item is unavailable.
Hi, do u have an idea when the next freezer deal will happen, I. Would like to save for one? Thank u for all u do!
It happens around the same time every year. This year it was the first weekend in February...so unfortunately you are looking at waiting another 10 months. Good news is that you have 10 months to save for it!
Jewel has their freezer deal once a year in February.
Ultra Foods and Strack and Van Til had theirs in March of this year.
Does this go BOGO? I remember only certain varieties were in the CHILL deal; got lots of 100% cranberry. DD won't drink it, though. Meijer has the OO juices in their 10/$10, 11th free this week (ending 4/21). Already used the $1/4 2x & can't print more. DH doesn't have a printer driver on laptop, or would use that! Wondering if it would make sense to use Q there to make the net $ better. Would love to get 11 apple & OJ for $9...
were also B1G1 at the Yorkville Jewel today.
but they let me substitute the 16 pk mini ones!
It's in the ad for 4/22 for sure.
Got mine today! The kids are thrilled!
I wanted to share that I was at the Jewel on Orchard today and found Dean's Churn Ice Cream Sandwiches 12pk on sale B1G1. Sale price $4.39 and used my FREE freezer coupon for 2 FREE ice cream sandwiches. Was surprised this wasn't on the list but happy I keep my freezer coupons in my purse. Happy Shopping!
Since the freezer coupons will expire next month...I was thinking about using the Culinary Circle Meal and TGI Friday Skillet meals this week.
For the Culinary Circle 2/$12 - 1 free = 2/$6 - $5/2 = $1 for 2
and
TGI Friday Skillet Meals 2/$15 - 1 free = 2/$7.50 - $5/2 = $2.50 for 2.
What do you think - worth the risk of them going BOGO by the end of next month?!
And the TGIF meals rang at $4.49 each, so with my free coupon, $2 man q, and store coupon, I got lots of overage on it! The meal variety was chicken/shrimp Cajun Alfredo. It was not marked down on the shelf!!!!
Nice scenarios. Don't forget to use the $2 TGIF Q from 2/21 SS.
please share
it is on the last page of this week's jewel ad - I wonder if some cashiers might try to take out the sale price instead of the full price of the item. Definitely hand the $5 coupon last, I am thinking.
The cashier took the after-coupon price off for my culinary circle meal which really ruined the deal...so beware!
you were on these. I know taking two home for free is even better, but especially for the culinary circle stuff, taking 2 home for $1 is pretty close.
I went to Jewel last night and all varieties were 2 4 5 and even double checked the flier. Anybody find them for B1G1?
They were B1G1 a few weeks ago through March 17th.
If you didn't use your free Deans Churn ice cream coupon from the freezer sale in March it is B1G1 again this week. I do not know how long the sale lasts.
The Target Sale add is wrong-- There was a correction in the newspaper. I know who the heck spends the time to read it :-) Looks like there was a correction made and It should be buy 2 Ore Ida and get one Free.
So not sure if this will work?????
Starting today through Saturday.
Bumping up for those who did the freezer deal in February - the Tony's frozen pizzas are B1G1F at Jewel through 3/17! Go get your 2 free pizzas!
What are the chances of the Eli's cheesecake going B1G1F?!? Love me some cheesecake!
Tony's pizza goes bogo starting tomorrow 3/11
Oh no, I have absolutely no room in my freezer or my mom's freezer! Guess we'll have to buy them and eat them right away!
Thanks so much for the heads up!
Edys Snack Size Cup from the Jewel freezer offer might be BYGO Free. The 1.5 qt is BYGO until March 3..if the quantity is correct, you'll get two free! Can anyone confirm that this is the correct size that is BYGO? I'll check it out later.
The snack cup is a tiny, single-serve cup, not the 1.5 qt (big tub.) Thanks for keeping an eye on the freezer products though! I'm trying to too.
Oh Man... Well hopefully they'll be something in Sundays paper. Seems like a slow start here.
Remember that your coupon is for the one deans churn which means your free one can be any of the other ones that fall under the bogo. You dont have to buy two churn.
