Free The Epic DVD and cheap The Croods DVD!!!
I went to the TRU in Niles and they told me that they can't do price match and accept a coupon. It's one or the other.
On another note, I also went to Walmart and the Blu Ray/DVD combo of The Croods was $14.96, also in Niles.
I wonder why there are discrepancies among same stores-like why will one TRU accept the price match and a coupon and one won't and why is The Croods one price at a Walmart and a different price at another? So frustrating!
I had major issues at my Toys R Us today, too, trying to buy Epic. (Reno, NV) and I did call corporate. I was told that they only price match from the Toys R Us website at this time. I said that was not true and that I had the corporate price match policy up on my phone. They said that because of Black Friday there was a “blackout” on price matches at Toys R Us and that if they did it they could lose their jobs. I asked to speak to a manager . A woman nearby conveniently said that she was the manager and that they couldn’t do it. I said that their corporate price match policy says nothing about a blackout for price matches and that this was not posted in the store anywhere. She then pointed to a blue cardboard semi-official looking sign that was laying on the counter by the register (not posted where it was visible!) that said no price matches 11/28 through 12/2. I pointed out that today is 12/3, so the sign does not apply. She said she received an e-mail from corporate today saying not do do price matches. I asked her how customers were supposed to be aware of this and complained that I made a special trip to their store to buy this item. I then left the store and called corporate. Interestingly, option number 5 is for store policy issues when calling the main Toys R Us phone number, so they must have many of these problems. The woman I spoke to listened to me complain and was really nice. However, she was also not well-informed regarding their price match policy because she told me that price matches at Toys R Us can only be done over the phone by calling customer service and then placing an order with customer service. I said that was not what their policy says on the Toys R Us website. (I also thought it was strange that she said that because the employees in the store did not indicate that was the case–they simply said they could not do the price match today.) So… I have reference number and someone is supposed to call me within 24-hours. I’m pretty upset that they don’t follow their policy. If a store does not want to price match, fine, but do not say that your policy is to price match, specifically include Amazon.com by name in that price match policy, and then refuse to honor your policy. I should also add that we never even got far enough for me to tell them the price match price, so this does not seem to be the case of them objecting because the price match difference was too great (from $19.99 to $7.48). Afterward, I went to Target and couldn’t find it in the store. There didn’t even seem to be a place for it on the shelf. All I could find was the blue-ray, deluxe, and special Target-only deluxe versions. (The Croods had already gone up in price on Amazon before I went to Toys R Us, so I didn’t even try that one.) I encourage everyone with price-matching/couponing issues to call the Corporate Office!! Maybe if enough of us complain, they will be consistent.
Walmart had a "limited quantity" of Croods priced at $9.96 in the ad. When those ran out, they were gone. Even though, yes, there are identical copies of The Croods at full price sitting on the shelves. The only difference were the price tags, as the lower-priced ones were priced that way for their Black Friday ad.
I have no problem buying as many as I can and dropping them in the Toys For Tots boxes.
Just a thought...
I agree 100%. They will make GREAT Toys for Tots gifts too :)
You might have to go to more than one store then, or bring more people with you.
Here is what the Target lady told me on Amazon or any online price matching-
They will only price match ONE item and not more of the same kind. For example I could buy only one Epic and no more at that price, but I could buy Epic and Croods , because they are 2 different items.
Also, the item has to be in stock online when they check it, and can’t have any special requirements with it.
I looked on the left side at the Target coupon policy, but it said nothing about price matching, unless I missed that part...thanks!!
I printed & brought it with me, but didn't need it. Note: Any price matches have to be done at CS-does that seem cumbersome to anyone else?? I waited in line, only to be told to go wait in ANOTHER line at CS...I cannot see many people being happy about that!!
FYI-good luck finding The Croods...McHenry & CL Target, as well as CL TRU are out & cannot tell me when they will get them in :(
if you don't mind?

I'll post it here too:
Amazon has the Epic DVD on sale for $7.48.
Take this price to Target or Toys R Us, where they are all price matching Amazon for the holidays, and match the $7.48 price. Update — NOT Walmart; they’re not price matching Amazon this year, sorry.
Use the $5.00 Epic DVD printable here to drop that to $2.48.

I just did the Epic movie and will be heading back for the Croods as well. All I needed was a printout from Amazon and they pushed it right through.
