Do coupons expire on date of expiration or before?

Here's something I always wondered about: when a coupon says "Expires on 6/15/11" does that mean you must use it by midnight on 6/14, or is it good *thru* 6/15 (expires at 11:59pm on 6/15)?

And is there any difference because of wording: "expires" v. "expires on" v. "expiration date"?

On the date

If the expiration date is 6/15/11, you have until 11:59pm ON the day of the expiration to use it. :)
