Don't Count Out ULTA!
Because of the fact that I work at Ulta, I see all the deals we have all the time. We do sell very expensive high end make and fragrance, but if you sign up for a Beauty Club Card (it takes no more that 50-60 seconds), you will get extra coupons ($3.50-$5 off a $10 purchase and sometimes %20 your entire purchase). They won't work on the high end make up or fragrance, but once again the deals that you get with a Beauty Club Card (rewards card) are worth it, because 1-2 times a year you get a 20% off EVERYTHING except Dermalogica and clearance items. That includes the high end make up AND fragrance (usually right around Christmastime). Having a club card means that for every $50 you spent, you jump a level, with each level you get the free stuff gets better and better. Spend $300 in 3-4 months, you could get free fragrance or a free hair cut or other things you might need. Sometimes Herbal Essenses is 2/$5 or Pantene is 2/$7 and we take manufacturer's coupons (as long as they are valid, not expired). Usually mass (drugstore) type make up and hair products are always on sale and you can combine our coupons with manufacturer's coupons. If you use more expensive Shampoo or Conditioner such as Redken or Matrix. They are $12.99 and $14.99 right now for about 2 more weeks and ULTA Coupons work on these items. If you use them products you know that they can be very pricey. Check out our salon in the back of the store too! We have great deals going on haircuts, highlightsw, hair color, facials and other things. Go to the McHenry Ulta and start saving EVEN MORE MONEY!
I have a question regarding Ulta. Does the $3.50 off $10 q go apply to the total BEFORE manufacturer coupons or after? I've had cashiers take the coupon before the manufacturer coupons, but this cashier insisted that it was AFTER manufacturer coupons. Also, if something is $9.99 can you still use the $3.50 off $10 coupon?
(In other words, will they adjust it?)
It kind of depends on the cashier. I'm pretty sure that we are supposed to do manufacturer's before and than Ulta coupons. There are times the register won't let us do certain things though too. Same with the $9.99 thing, I usually let people use the coupon being under by a penny. Sometimes people are extremely rude though and yell and me for no reason and throw coupons at me, and I won't do it. Usually, it is okay though. I will check for sure on our coupon policy on my next shift and post them for you all.
Thanks for your reply. Most of the cashiers are very nice at Ulta. However, there are two that I've encountered that just stare at the coupon for minutes like it is from outer space. The one cashier asked the manager twice if I could use the coupons and the cashier said yes - we get paid for them! It seemed like she just didn't want me to have the money off.
But I love that store and most of the time all the girls are really nice and accomodating!
Even though they are Buy 2 or 3 get 1 free, they really cut into that "expensive shampoo" price and can pair with the Ulta coupons! And pricey moisturizer goes on big sale + manuf + ulta for a triple whammy deal.
I didn't realize the 20% off everything was good for bare escentuals... I missed that boat! Next year!
Can you give us heads-up when that coupon comes out? Sometimes that gets lost in the deluge that time of year!
I love Ulta! Thanks!
The next coupon will be coming soon since this current sale ends on 1/22, hopefully in next weeks Sunday paper. It won't qualify on Bare this time or any prestige or fragrance, but, it will be 20% off of everything else. Check in the circulars you get in the mail for extras too. They say that the 205 off EVERYTHING including Bare only comes out once a year, but it is a bit more often than that, so no need to be disappointed. Grab some Redken, Joico, Kenra, or another $14.99 liter on between 1/22-1/29. They will only be $12.89 after tax and coupon compared to $28-$48 per liter.
Ulta is great for saving money on products. At Christmas I saved so much money on makeup and Pantene because I combined the Ulta coupons with the insert coupons. The girl said she wished she had something showing how much I saved because it was unbelievable!
We stopped into the Ulta in Tinley Park for my son ( I know weird)
for hair products (yes I am envious as I don't have much on top anymore ;o))
We did sign up for the beauty club card and it was very fast! Thanks for the additional info
on the sale cycle.
