Do Catalinas work past the expiration date?
Got a few Catalinas thats are past the expiration date are they still good after that. If so how long after. How bout Register rewards and extra bucks? Thanks.
Once they expire, no other store will accept them, nor should they - they're expired. Dominick's currently accepts expired manufacturer coupons one year past the expiration date, but they are typically very "iffy" about Catalinas. Walgreens Register Rewards are Catalina coupons too.
CVS Extra Care Bucks are not good once they expire.
Surprising that you would say "nor should they - they're expired" when they accept other expired coupons from RP, SS and PG all the time. You post for people to use expired coupons all the time and where I can understand store policy I don't really think this was a dumb question.
First of all, why would you allow yourself to have expired catalinas, RRs, and CVS Extra Care Bucks? Maybe, you need to take time and organize yourself a little better. Secondly, are you aware of the fact that the Coupon Maven is JILL? Jill has saved us all a lot of money. Maybe, you need to spend a little more time reading and understanding Jill's posts prior to being so rude to her.
with Happy Saver.. From the tone of your conversation, you are "bashing" Jill and that is not right or fair to her. I may be "new" to this but I have not ONCE seen Jill post using expired coupons at any other store than DOMINICK'S. She takes a lot of time and puts a lot of effort into helping us ALL SAVE A LOT OF MONEY! It WOULD be unethical for her to promote using expired coupons at the other stores that CLEARLY DON'T since it IS stated in their policy and WHY on earth would she post using expired coupons at a store she DOES NOT have the policy for..? That too would be UNETHICAL.
Jewel accepted expired coupons for 10+ years before the general shopping public learned about it, and it was not written into store policy. Corporate office always said "no", store level said "yes". Everything changes, keep asking.
Many CVS stores will take expired Extra Bucks, ask at yours. CVS in my area also accepts expired mfg coupons against rainchecked items. Keep the information flowing.
Yeah some of the Jewels were accepting my expired coupons up to 30 days too. Thanks Grandma
You are far too defensive. If you read what I posted never once did I accuse Jill of anything. So what are you talking about? Did I say say she posted to use expired coupons anywhere else? Did I say she posted to do anything unethical? Did I say she does not know how to save money? Read my posts. Does it ever say any of that?
saying that you did say any of those things I am defending Jill's comments back to you regarding it being unethical for her to post things about using expired coupons at any other place than Dominick's because she doesn't have their policies. I didn't say you were accusing her of anything. I said that you were bashing her. You come off in your posts as being rude to her. Again, she does not deserve that because she helps so many save money. You need to read what I wrote on that as you got that wrong too. I said the she helps all of us save money not that you said she doesn't know how to save money. I understand the question you asked and it is a valid one but there was really no need for you to respond to her the way that you did. It does some off very rude when reading. Perhaps you didn't mean it that way but at least one other person that read it too felt you very being rude and I am sure others would too.
Why are you defending something that was said to me by someone else? I did not say I wanted to do anything unethical and did not accuse her of being unethical in her blog. I did not bash her and I dont think you or anybody else's comments about my attitude help anything. Im not going to further explain why I responded the way I did. You read it and judge for yourself.
LOL you are on my case because I allowed my coupons to expire? I will answer your question. They expired because in addition to being a single parent of a high school senior and getting her to and from her activities, doing college trips, applying for scholarships, I take care of my 81 year old parents who both are in bad health and need my assistance with doctors appointments and just day to day life. I also have a career that has me working 6 sometimes 7 days a week at a minimum of 12 hours a day. I said minimum because 22 hours in one day is not that uncommon. I am totally aware that I was speaking to Jill and did not think my original post was rude at all. If I had more time to read I certainly would, but I dont. Thats why I posted the question.
In your post, you didn't specify which stores you were talking about. Dominick's is the only store in Chicagoland that accepts expired manufacturer coupons up to one year past the date. I do not "post for people to use expired coupons all the time" -- quite the contrary. I ONLY blog deals including expireds for Dominick's as they're the only store that accepts them.
I have never, and would never, blog a deal involving expired coupons for stores that do not accept them -- it's unethical.
Dominick's is NOT "the only store in Chicagoland" that accepts expired coupons. Ultra Foods accepts expired coupons up to 30 days past the expired date. Food 4 less also did up until a couple of months ago. I never said you did anything unethical but you do blog about using expired coupons. Even if they are at stores that accept them. Just thought you might know if stores accepted Catalinas past expiration dates as well. You did answer my question, but you were mistaken about Dominick's being the "only store" that accepts expired coupons. Perhaps Ultra accepts its Catalinas past that date as well. I will call them or just ask when I shop there next. Ok, you you DO NOT "post for people to use expired coupons all the time", perhaps I should have said you post for people to use expired coupons "quite often" or if you prefer "occasionally".
Actually, not all Ultras accept them 30 days past the date either, and I've been unable to get an official written policy out of Ultra stating this. Until there's a policy official for ALL stores, I cannot assume that all do.
And again, I only post for people to use expired coupons at Dominick's... which ACCEPTS them. Jewel does not, Meijer does not, etc - I would not blog expireds for those stores. There is nothing wrong with blogging or utilizing expired coupons AT Dominick's, as it's currently their policy to accept. If a store chooses to accept them to remain competitive, why shouldn't I blog deals that involve them? It's no different than utilizing Jewel's coupon policy for competitor's coupons -- if they choose to accept a Dominick's coupon for a loaf of bread, why shouldn't I use it there? They've chosen that policy to remain competitive, and as long as what I'm doing is in compliance with their policy, there's no reason not to.
If a store chose to double, you'd say "no, don't double this .50 to $1, because it's only a .50 coupon?"
I don't like where this discussion is going, and I'm not sure what you're trying to imply, because I do not advocate using expired coupons EXCEPT at Dominick's -- where again, it's currently their policy to accept. Please, feel free to search back through two years' worth of deals and find a deal for any other store that I've posted that relies on expired coupons.
If you have a problem using expired coupons at Dominick's, then don't. But you were the one asking where you could use expired coupons -- again, I'm not sure what the point of this is.
Ok the 2 Ultras that I shop at accept expired coupons. Let me know if you ever find out an official policy from them and Foof 4 Less is you check with them. Im sorry that you think I was attacking you about the expired coupons. I wasnt. I only mentioned it because Catalinas are coupons too and if a store accepts any expired coupons maybe they accept Catalinas too. Your right this discussion is not going to a good place. Im not implying anything other than I asked a question and I got my answer. Thank you.
