First off, Jewel has a 2-day sale that ends TODAY. If you want any of these items, scoot right out the door for...

Wonderful Pistachios - a 10oz. bag is on sale for $1.99, limit 3. Use this $1 coupon (you can print 2!) and take these home for .99 - a STEAL!

Coca-Cola product 2-liters are .88 each, limit 10. Many stores have tearpads in front of the Coke for FREE Vienna Beef Franks when you buy 5 Coke 2-liters. So, $4.40 for 5 Cokes AND a pack of hot dogs. Not bad!

O-Ke-Doke 8-9oz. bags of popcorn and cheese corn are $1.88 a bag, limit 4. Thr 5/9 SS insert has a $1-off-2 coupon. Buy two and pay $2.76 for both, or $1.38 a bag.

Jewel 20-ounce loaves of bread are .88 each, limit 4.

Here's a freebie! Febreze Noticeables air fresheners are on sale for $2.50. Use the $3 coupon from 8/1 PG and get one FREE! Note that this item is also included in the $30/$10 P&G Catalina/gift card sale (read below) ... AND also note that Febreze Noticeables are also no longer being carried in many Jewel-Osco stores as they were recently clearanced out. Just an FYI - I've been receiving email all weekend from people complaining that their stores are telling them they're no longer carrying these. (But please don't complain to me - complain over here.)

Prego pasta sauce is super-cheap too! It's on sale for .99 a jar, limit 2. Use this $1 off 2 printable and pay .98 for TWO, or .49 a jar!

The entire line of Neutrogena Makeup is on sale 40% off, with many items priced around $4.49. Use the $3 Neutrogena coupon from August All You and pay $1.49! There are additional Neutrogena $2 and $1 coupons in 8/1 SS if you like their products.

Michelina's frozen entrees are $1 each. Use the $1-off-5 coupon from 5/9 SS or a printable, buy 5 and pay .80 each!

Here's another freebie! Athenos Hummus dips are on sale for $3.99, Buy One, Get One Free. Use this B1G1F coupon, buy two, and get BOTH free!

Mini Super-Couponing lesson: Why does this work? When you use a B1G1F coupon during a B1G1F sale, you will buy none and get two free. Here's why... and remember, it's important to think of your coupons AS cash. If you walk into the store and give them $3.99 in cash, how many packages of Athenos will that pay for? Two -- because the store is selling you two for $3.99. Now, look at your B1G1F coupon. What is its value? Up to $5.49. Think of coupon as stating "up to $5.49 off two packages of Athenos," and when the price of two packages of Athenos is $3.99... the coupon's up-to-$5.49 value pays the entire price. You WILL pay tax on the pre-coupon price, as always... but both item will be free.

It's important to note too that you do not get coupon overage with a free or B1G1F coupon when the value is "up to $5.49." Legally, the cashier must enter the price of the first item, which in this case is $3.99. The store's B1G1F sale makes the second item FREE. Seafood, by its nature, is more expensive per pound, but a good "buy" benchmark is $4 per pound or less for fish or shrimp.)

Let's go to Dominick's...

Note to my Safeway shoppers reading from outside Chicagoland: In Chicago, Dominick's currently accepts expired coupons up to one year past the expiration date, so my coupon matchups for Dominick's deals will include expired coupons. If an expired coupon matchup is provided, it will be noted with (exp) after the date. Also, in Chicago, Dominick's does not double coupons (as other Safeway stores do) - if your store doubles, you'll do even better with many of these deals.

DIAPER DEAL! Many Doms locations are clearancing out of their Mom to Mom diapers (Dominick's house brand.) I spotted a shelf full of jumbo Mom to Mom diaper packages in every size at the LITH Doms on clearance for $6.69 with 50% off the price -- bringing you to $3.35 a pack! A STEAL.

Note that these don't qualify for the current Mom to Mom Catalina deal running at Dominick's - but that's cheap.

Several readers spotted a deal on Purina One cat and dog food. 18-ounce bags of Purina One cat food are on sale for $2 each through 8/8. Use $2 Purina One cat food coupons from 6/27 SS (exp) and 4/18 RP (exp) and it's FREE! The 2/28 SS has a coupon for $3 off any size Purina One cat or dog food too.

Also, check that dog food -- I spotted small bags of a new flavor of Purina One dog food hanging on an aisle display priced at With the $2 dog food coupon (again, good on ANY size) from 6/27 SS, it's free too!

Here's a Catalina deal on Ice Mountain water! 24-packs of .5 liter bottles of Ice Mountain are on sale for $3.50 a case. Ice Mountain is also part of a national Catalina deal through 8/22/10:

Purchase 2 cases Ice Mountain water, Receive $2
Purchase 3 cases Ice Mountain water, Receive $3
Purchase 4 or more cases Ice Mountain water, Receive $5

With no coupons, buying 4 packs of Ice Mountain will cost $14, and you'll get $5 back, knocking the total to $9, or $2.25 each. Let's add coupons! There are $1-off-2 24-packs in January All You. With one coupon, pay $13 and get $5 back. With 2 coupons, pay $12 and get a $5 Catalina back, dropping the price of all 4 to $7, or $1.75 each.

If you like buying bottled water... get it cheap!

If you're a fan of the Dominick's deli's Signature Cafe service sandwiches, they're a good deal this week. When you buy one at $4.99, you get a free 20oz. Coke product AND you'll get a coupon for a second sandwich FREE on your next trip (coupon expires 8/21.) Make this an even better deal with the $1 Signature Cafe service sandwich coupon on Dominick's site, which you can print or load to your card. You'll pay $3.99 for TWO sandwiches and Coke! NICE!

"No Coupon Needed" Deals:

As usual, there are Dominick's Super Coupons* in this week's ads too. Best bets?

• Starkist pouch tuna is on sale for .88 a pouch, limit 12, with Super Coupon. Stack this with manufacturer coupon for an even BETTER deal... you'll find $1-off-2 manufacturer coupons in the 2/14 RP (exp) and in May All You. Buy two and pay .76 for 2, or .38 a pouch! Make this even better with some B1G1F coupons... July All You has a B1G1F pouch coupon, and 6/20 RP has "Buy 2 Starkist Tuna Pouches, get FREE Tuna Salad or Tuna Creations! Any way you do the deal, that's some cheap tuna :)
   
  
• Purex 3-in-1 20-load laundry sheets (these have both detergent and fabric softener in the same sheet) are $3.99, limit 4, with Super Coupon. Use the $2 coupon from 4/18 RP (exp) and pay $1.99. Reader Icoupon2 came up with a nice scenario for Nutri-Grain bars! They're on sale for $2.39 as part of the Buy 4, get the 5th free this week. You'll need multiple sets of inserts to do this one, but as this was a four-insert week, many people bought more than one newspaper for the P&G alone. If you were one of them, here's the deal...

Buy 5 boxes of Nutri-Grain bars.

Use two of the $1-off-2 Kellogg's snacks Target store coupon from 8/1 RP.
Use as many .75 off Nutri-Grain coupons as you have (one, two, three, four or five) from 7/11 RP

With two of each coupon, pay $6.06 for 5 boxes - that's about $1.01 a box. With five .75 manufacturer coupons, pay $3.81 for five boxes -- .76 a box.

NOW... if you have the Kellogg's Back to School coupon books that are in many grocery stores right now, there's a coupon inside for $2 off any store brand coffee when you buy 2 Nutri-Grain bars. If you have two of these, head to the coffee aisle and grab four Archer Farms single-brew packages of coffee for $1 each, and they will be FREE as part of this deal too.

I picked up two $19.99 wooden train sets for $4.98 at 75% off. Clothing clearance abounds throughout the store too. I bought some new sandals for under $5.

The Big Swiffer Deal

(This deal's legendary! If you hold your coupons and play them right, it's always cheaper to buy a Swiffer and a refill than buying the Swiffer or the refill alone. I've done this deal numerous times over the past few years in one form or another...)

You'll need the Target store coupon for $3 off the Swiffer Starter Kit from the 6/27 Target insert (some editions of the Tribune did not receive this insert) and the "Buy a Swiffer Sweeper starter kit, get a FREE refill coupon from the Home Made Simple: Decor Done Right coupon book.

Buy a Swiffer Sweeper starter kit ($8.99 at most stores.) Your $3 coupon knocks this down to $5.99. Now, get the LARGEST Swiffer refill you can find, as the coupon does not specify a size or quantity for your refill. (I like the 36-count Swiffer wet floor wipes, which usually sells for $14! It comes in a large cardboard "case" as opposed to the plastic tubs, and I've only seen this size at Target.) Pay $5.99 for the Swiffer AND the wipes -- that's cheaper than buying the wipes alone.

Target has launched mobile Target coupons which you can load to your phone. They are Target store coupons that you can stack manufacturer coupons with. Load coupons here. You can also print these offers by going to www.target.com/save and entering your phone number.

Remember too that you get .05 off your total at Target for each reusable bag you bring and use!
